iPhone 11 Series Glass Drop Test One
At the iPhone 11 conference, Apple highlighted the integrated glass back panel of the new phone, saying that it uses a new process and is “the hardest glass panel in iPhone history” (again). After the iPhone 11 series went on the market, the media and bloggers naturally tested its impact resistance. The results proved that Apple did not brag, let’s take a look at the detailed test process.

Lately, foreign media Cnet used a very professional robotic arm to perform the iPhone 11 drop test. The mobile phone was attached to the device and dropped at different heights (only once) to test the impact resistance. The test scenarios are indoor and concrete floors, and the test heights are: 1 meter, 1.8 meters, and 3.3 meters.

First of all, at a height of 1 meter, the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro did not have any damage, including the screen and the back cover. The height rose to 1.8 meters, and the iPhone 11 was still not damaged. Pixel dead pixels. However, the screen is not cracked and can be touched normally.

Then, At the height of 3.3 meters, there are some scratches on the aluminium alloy frame of the iPhone. The lens part is also scratched, but the screen and the back cover are not broken. The iPhone 11 Pro is similar, the camera part is more obvious, and the screen damage increase.

In the Cnet test, neither the iPhone 11 nor the Pro showed a screen or a cracked back cover. Last year’s iPhone XR had a broken screen under similar circumstances. It seems that the iPhone 11 series is more resistant to drop. So, how about rising to a higher level?

iPhone 11 Series Glass Drop Test two
The second test comes from foreign bloggers. The test method is to manually drop the two models of iPhone 11 Pro at different heights, and perform multiple tests at the same height.

A total of eight drop tests were performed at a height of about 1.8 meters, and neither the iPhone 11 Pro nor the Max broke. Raising the height to about 3 meters for the first drop test, the stainless-steel frames of the two phones were scratched, but the front and rear glass were intact. In the second 3m drop test, the iPhone Pro Max screen and back were the first to break, but the iPhone XS Max was only broken on the back and the screen was intact.
Of course, both of the above test environments have luck components and have not met rigorous scientific standards. However, in daily life, most users just drop their phones and drop their hands, usually at a height of about 1 meter. The above tests have fully proved that the strength of the front and rear glass panels of the iPhone 11 series has improved, and it is indeed the most drop-resistant machine in iPhone history.
